In Queensland, it is a requirement that all candidates for a jetski licence (Personal Water Craft Licence or PWCL) either hold a boat licence (Recreational Boat Drivers Licence or RMDL), or obtain a Certificate of Competency for a boat licence as a prerequisite to obtaining a jetski licence.
For details on obtaining your boat licence see details under the "Boat Licence" tab. If you don't already hold a boat licence, there's some good news for you, when you do both your boat and jetski licence course and assessments together, you save fifty dollars! Although there is not a great deal of extra information you need to learn to obtain your jetski licence, there are some important things you need to know which will play a vital role in keeping you, your friends and family safe and out of trouble when using these exhilarating little machines.
Being very fast, water jet propelled and an extremely nimble vessel, the way a jet ski handles is very different to your standard boat, so we will teach you all you need to know about operating these machines safely. They are not hard to drive and in fact, once you know the basics, they are much easier to drive than most boats. Most people feel a little nervous when being tested this is a normal reaction to doing things we're not used to. We promise to make you comfortable, and never ask you to do anything beyond your capability, and we guarantee those nerves will be gone by the time your assessment is complete!
